NOCCASO X SAIT HALIM PASHA MANSION
Surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Bosphorus, Sait Halim Pasha Mansion offers a unique architectural setting defined by its historic character and its profound relationship with the water. The Noccaso event held within this remarkable setting was approached through a holistic design perspective that placed the spirit of the venue at its centre, establishing a balanced relationship between the landscape and the seating arrangement.
The Noccaso seating elements placed throughout the event space were positioned in harmony with the cool breeze of the Bosphorus and its ever-changing surface of light and reflections. The modular seating units offered a flexible and fluid layout across the mansion’s terrace, with each module defining a distinct experience for the user. Rather than confining the space to a single focal point, this arrangement allowed guests to engage with the surrounding view from multiple perspectives.
Patterned armchairs completing the spatial composition emerged as another key element reinforcing the architectural language of the event. Inspired by the blue tones of the Bosphorus and traditional motifs, the patterns created a contemporary contrast with the mansion’s historic character, while the bold colour palette brought energy and vitality to the space. More than functional seating elements, these armchairs were conceived as architectural focal points positioned in dialogue with the landscape.
The placement of the seating elements was carefully planned to define the boundaries of the space without interrupting the uninterrupted Bosphorus view. The expansive view framed by the glass balustrades merged with the patterns of the armchairs, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior. In this way, the terrace evolved beyond being simply a transitional area, becoming a gathering space designed to be inhabited, experienced, and remembered.
Noccaso’s intervention at Sait Halim Pasha Mansion goes beyond a decorative installation; it offers a design experience that reinterprets the relationship between architecture, landscape, and the user. Within a setting where every corner carries its own story, the project introduces a contemporary language of living against the timeless atmosphere of the Bosphorus.
